June Blog Topic: Quaker Families

How do parents & young people experience Quakerism?

Friends,

We invite both Quaker adults and young people growing up in Quaker families and meetings to share their thoughts in writing.

Here are the two posts to date:

Quaker Families

For Adults

  • What do you tell your children about the nature of God, the Spirit, the Light?
  • What resources do you use and what stories do you tell?
  • How do you interact with your meetings on these themes for First Day School?
  • What other subjects would you like to write about?

For Young People

  • How do you describe growing up in a Quaker family? What are the advantages and challenges for you?
  • How is your personal faith and practice maturing, whether you are led to Quakerism or to some other path?
  • What do you want the adults in your family, meeting and the Religious Society of Friends to know about young Friends?
  • What other subjects would you like to write about?

Please share this invitation widely, especially with those in your meetings and other circles who can encourage young people to write for us.

Blessings,
Mike Shell
