Global Meeting for Worship
via Zoom web conferencing
6-7:00 pm Greenwich Mean Time/Coordinated Universal Time (GMT/UTC)
Set the Time Zone Converter at www.thetimezoneconverter.com for 6:00 PM GMT on the right, and find your local time on the left.
Please see NOTE about Daylight Savings Time versus Greenwich Mean Time.
The Global Meeting for Worship (GMFW) is an hour of silent Quaker worship,
clerked by a member of Quaker Universalist Fellowship.
This live online worship is made possible using web conferencing. We all see each other using web cams on our computers, laptops, and smartphones.
If you do not have a web cam or do not wish to use one, you can still join us using audio only by calling an international phone number, just as you would for a conference call.
For more details and to request an email invitation with links and contact information, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Blessings to all,
Gail Rogers, QUF Clerk
Larry Spears, QUF Treasurer
Mike Shell, QUF Blog/Social Media Editor
- Global Meeting for Worship (GMFW) always starts at 6:00 PM Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). GMT is also known as Consolidated Universal Time (UTC).
- GMT is a global standard which does NOT change, regardless of local “daylight savings time” policies. For example, England is now on British Summer Time (BST), but that does NOT change GMT/UTC.
- Always use the Time Zone Converter www.thetimezoneconverter.com to check your local time against GMT.
Example 1: The eastern United States went on Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) on March 3rd.
Example 2: On March 31st, England went on British Summer Time (BST).
